The Benefits of Sleeping on a Waterbed

The Persians were the first to discover the comfort of “flotation” sleeping. This was over 3000 years ago! When they slept on sun-warmed goatskinned waterbags! From then the concept has developed into what we know today.

Today waterbeds aren’t just for comfort, they can help people who suffer from common medical conditions such as:

Insomnia

On average 30% of the population have sleep related problems that can be caused by a variety of factors such as stress, pain, temperature or disturbances from light/noises etc. A waterbed can help insomnia by providing excellent conditions for comfort and temperature that will help you drift of to sleep and stay asleep for longer.

Backache and Strain

Waterbeds work in a unique way unlike ordinary mattresses which can create pressure points along the entire length of your body.  Waterbeds enable your body to be distributed evenly over the entire surface resulting in a better nights sleep for everybody.

Arthritis

If you suffer from arthritis, rheumatism, muscular or joint damage you will find that with its regulated temperature it will help you get the much needed relief from aching joints. It will also help your muscles to relax and improve your circulation.

Asthma and Allergies

Waterbeds are proven to be more hygienic than ordinary mattresses because they cannot harbour dust or bacteria. Unlike ordinary mattresses dust mites simply increase year on year because they are feeding of dead skin. Waterbed mattresses are made out of vinyl or similar material that can simply be wiped clean and the outer covering can easily be removed and washed at 60 degrees (the temperature that kills the dust mites) meaning a more safe and hygienic environment for everyone.

In general there is no other sleep system that provides total support, comfort and hygiene! Waterbed are extremely long lasting, a well maintained vinyl mattress should last a lifetime meaning great value for money!
